The State Department of Canada has announced a new program for Ukrainians who have suffered from the war in Ukraine. The Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel program involves a temporary stay in Canada with the opportunity to live up to 3 years, legally work and study. Below we will consider all the conditions of the program, and who can apply for it.

You can apply if:

  • You are a citizen of Ukraine.
  • You have a valid foreign passport.
  • If you do not have a foreign passport, you can apply your internal passport.

The first step to start the process is to fill out online an application form. You can do it for free, on your own at the link: www.canada.ca

The application form has a lot of questions that will concern you, your family, your education, your previous jobs, and so on. The questions in the application form are all in English and the answers must be respectively also in English.

After you complete the application form, you will need to upload your documents online. The list of requested documents may vary, as it is formed depending on your answers to the questions in the application form.

The list of basic documents for obtaining a visa to Canada 2022 is:

  • International passport.
  • Internal Ukrainian passport.
  • Documents confirming ties with your family who will be traveling with you to Canada, as well as with relatives who already live in Canada (if applicable).
  • The system also requests financial documents from the applicant. This is normal because this visa is not a refugee program. Under this program, the government of Canada will not pay allowances or assistance to Ukrainians, so people should have some funds for the first time they stay in Canada.

All documents that you will submit in Ukrainian must be translated into English.

We understand that the process of obtaining a visa to Canada under the simplified scheme can be difficult for people who have never experienced it. Our company, Avisa, has been working with visa processing for 8 years, so we can help you understand this program and fill out the form correctly.

After you submit the application and documents, you will be sent a request for the submission of biometric data. Biometrics must be submitted at the Canada Visa Application Centre. Since the visa centers in Ukraine are currently not open, you can use any visa center located in Europe. Before you come, you must submit schedule the date for submitting your biometrics at one of the aforementioned visa centers.

Ukrainians are given a simplified visa to Canada with the following entitlements:

  • Stay in Canada up to 3 years.
  • You can enter Canada multiple times.
  • Permission to legally work and study.
  • The program can be used free of charge.
  • All interested citizens of Ukraine can apply for the program.
