How to get a visa to the UK for Ukrainians under the sponsorship program in 2022?

A new program, The Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine), will allow all interested Ukrainians and their families to come to the UK. The most basic requirement is to have an approved sponsor in the UK. In this article, we will review all the conditions of the program and the requirements for the applicant and sponsor.

To participate in the sponsorship program, you must meet the following requirements:

• Have Ukrainian citizenship or be the closest relative of a citizen of Ukraine.
• To be outside the UK before you apply for this program.
• Have a sponsor in the UK who is eligible to participate in the Homes for Ukraine program.
• You must have a valid travel  passport or an officially renewed passport.

The first step in this process is to find a sponsor. Who can be your sponsor?

It can be any person, with any nationality, legally residing in the UK, who can offer you accommodation in his house, apartment, or room. Also, any organization in the UK can be also a sponsor. All interested sponsors will need to fill out an online form. After that, The Department for Leveling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) will check both sponsors and applicants.

Once you have found a sponsor, you will need to apply online. In the online form, you will have to answer a lot of questions in English. You can fill out this form yourself at the link: apply.visas-immigration.service.gov.uk

• Proof of your sponsor's identity: a passport, driver's license, or residence permit.
