Like many things in 2020, the situation with visas in the United States is very confusing and difficult. The pandemic has caused changes in people's lives, how we do business, and the work of embassies. To date, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine has canceled all interviews for many categories of visas. Furthermore, there is no clear indication as to when the embassy will resume business. Consequently, you may want to know if there is any way to get a visa to the U.S. in 2020?
There is a way, but only for those applicants who previously have had nonimmigrant visa to the US. This means that if an applicant has had a U.S. visa which expired less than 24 months ago (previously it was 12 months), has the right to use the U.S. visa renewal procedure without being interviewed. This opportunity will be valid until 12-31-2020.
The procedure for renewing a visa to the U.S. during coronavirus has not changed. To start the process, it is necessary to:
- Pay the consular fee at Raiffeisen Bank Aval;
- Fill out the DS-160 visa application

- Collect a package of documents that will include:
- Stating the purpose of the trip;
- Documents confirming your permanent residence in the country of residence;
- Financial documents;
- Statement of monthly income;
- New photo, size 5 by 5 cm;
- A valid passport;
- Passport with a previous visa to the United States.
