There are a lot of visa types to visit Canada and today we will talk in more detail about the super visa to Canada. What is a super visa to Canada and who may to apply for it?
The super visa to Canada 2021 is intended for parents or grandparents of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada who plan to visit their relatives for up to two yearsThe visa is issued for 10 years .
To be eligible for a super visa to Canada you must:
- Be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
- Have a signed invitation from your child/grandchild inviting you to Canada and taking financial responsibility for you during your stay in Canada.
- Have paid health insurance from a Canadian insurance company that will be valid for at least 1 year after your arrival to Canada with coverage of at least $100,000.
- Pass a medical examination in Ukraine.
When deciding whether to issue a super visa to Canada, the visa officer will consider the documents of both the host and the inviting party. The invitee will have to prove to the Embassy that after the expiration of his visa, he/she will return to the country of permanent residence. The visa officer will pay attention to the ties with the country of residence, the financial component of the applicant, and the economic and political stability of the country of residence.
A super visa to Canada is not an immigrant visa, so your rights will be limited as compared to citizens or residents of the country. With this type of visa, you cannot:
- Work
- Get a local driver's license.
- Immigrate to Canada.
Here is a list of documents you will need to get a super visa to Canada:
- A signed letter of invitation from your child/grandchild.
- Confirmation of a sufficient level of income of the host party (your child or grandchild). In 2020, there was a required minimum income of $25,921 if the host household consists of one person. If there are two people living in the household, then the host must have a minimum income of $32,270.
- Paid health insurance for the applicant.
- The results of the medical examination.
- Documents confirming the relationship between the applicant and the host party.
- Your bank statements stating that you have sufficient funds to travel to Canada;
- Documents confirming ties with country of residence, such as husband/wife, real estate, business, etc.
You can only apply for super visa to Canada online (due to coronavirus)., All documents must be collected, scanned, and uploaded to your personal account that you have created on the website of the State Department of Canada. As well, as all applicants must fill out three application forms: about themselves, about their family and one for additional information. Translation of documents is also necessary. You can translate documents into English or French.
Getting an urgent visa to Canada is not allowed. The minimum time to get a super visa is 2 months and the maximum is 9 months.
The super visa to Canada was specifically introduced by the Government of Canada to replace the Immigration Parent Sponsorship Program and, as practice shows, this was a good decision. Canadians can now see their parents or grandparents on a long-term basis, if the latter does not change their immigration status.
