The quarantine around the world has changed the plans of many people. Tourists monitor the information and hope that the tourist season in 2020 will still take place. What if you were planning a trip to the United States? As of June 15, 2020, Ukraine resumes international air service. According to the proclamation signed by U.S. President D. Trump Ukraine is not on the list of banned countries, whose citizens cannot enter the US. However, there are some limitations that we want to point out:

  • Foreigners who have traveled in or through the Schengen zone, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Brazil, the People's Republic of China, with the exception of the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau, and the Islamic Republic, cannot enter the United States or apply for a visa to the United States  until 14 days after completion of the trip  of the trip to the listed countries;;
  • Tourists will not be able to enter the United States for 14 days after having travelled to or transited through the above-mentioned countries;
  • Foreigners with coronavirus symptoms will not be able to enter the United States.

That is, if you have a valid visa in the U.S. and you comply with all the requirements, you can enter the country.

And what can be done for those who do not have a visa to the U.S.?

Now, there is no official information on the resumption of issuance of visas to Ukrainians. However, the embassy provides limited services for American citizens, including adoption and emergency services. Making of appointments to the embassy have already been resumed, the nearest date being August 7, 2020. Theoretically, you can already pay the consular fee and set an interview date, but if the situation with the coronavirus worsens, your date will be canceled. The consular fee is valid for 1 year, respectively, during the year it is possible to get into the embassy.

We also want to inform that the government of Ukraine has lifted the ban on the entry of foreign tourists. U.S. citizens can enter Ukraine if they can prove that they have health insurance that covers all the costs associated with COVID-19 treatment in Ukraine. U.S. citizens entering Ukraine will have to be quarantined if the Department of Health considers the United States to be a country with a high incidence of COVID-19. This restriction will be reviewed and reported to the Border Service every three days. Accordingly, U.S. citizens traveling to Ukraine should be prepared for self-isolation if they are advised to do so on arrival.

Getting a visa to the U.S. and getting acquainted with the color of this country is the dream of any tourist, but obstacles on the way to obtaining a visa can arise for everyone, namely:

  • The data in the visa application form is not correct.
  • Not knowing the process of issuing this visa;
  • Stress during the interview
  • Not a properly collected package of documents.

These are not many reasons that may affect visa denial. Therefore, we recommend applying to professionals before starting the visa process.
